Cristiano Ronaldo tops forbes' list of highest-earning athletes in 2023
In a shocking turn of events during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, numerous residents of Ward No. 21 in English Bazaar found themselves disenfranchised due to a system error that erroneously listed them as deceased on the voter list. Excited to exercise their democratic right, these individuals arrived at the polling station only to discover that they were deemed 'dead' according to official records. Despite their efforts to inform the administration and rectify the error, they were unable to cast their votes, leaving them disheartened and disillusioned.
Several residents, including 80-year-old Chittaranjan Kunduke, 65-year-old Anima Podda, and Rakhi Das, were among those affected by the voter list error. Kunduke was seen visibly distraught, shedding tears after being denied the opportunity to vote. Podda and Das, similarly disenfranchised, were unable to cast their ballots at booths 89 and 90 of Goeshpur Lower Basic School in Ward No. 21. Blaming the district administration's election office for the oversight, these individuals expressed their disappointment and frustration at being unable to participate in the electoral process.
